Over the next several weeks we’re going to be talking about worship, as we think about what our response is to God’s gift and the resurrection of Jesus. Worship is not the only response that we have or that we give to the gift of God – seen in the cross and in the resurrection – but it is a primary way that we respond. Our goal is to challenge you both in scripture and in the right here and now, as we draw together to worship at the times that we do so. We invite you to spend time learning more about worship with us.
Sermon Series: The Road to Pentecost
We’re going to spend the next few weeks in our new series, The Road to Pentecost, exploring events leading from the Resurrection (Luke 24:6) to the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1).
Pentecost memorializes the Holy Spirit’s descent upon Christ’s apostles after the Resurrection (Acts 2:2-4). The eternal Word assumed human flesh (John 1:14), the Lamb of God suffered and died in the flesh (Isaiah 53:3-5, Luke 23:44-46), was resurrected (Matthew 28:5-7), ascended to Heaven (Mark 16:19), and sent His Holy Spirit to sanctify His believers (2 Thessalonians 2:13). God, whose main characteristic is holiness (Revelation 4:8), sent His Holy Spirit (John 14:26) to set His believers apart from sinfulness to holiness (John 16:7-11, Titus 3:5, Romans 8:14).
Won’t you join us as we learn more on The Road to Pentecost?
Sermon Series: A Walk To The Cross
Our newest lesson series, A Walk To The Cross, is a study that will lead us to Easter. We are excited to be learning more about the life of Jesus, the followers of Jesus, and the story of Jesus. We’ll be looking at both the people Jesus interacted with specifically and how those interactions relate to us, and the call of the cross and everything else. We are excited about this series and know that the Lord has a lot in store for us over the coming weeks. We hope you’ll join us as we hear the good news message every week and then apply it to our lives as the church and as God’s people.
Sermon Series: Prayer
We started a new Prayer series this year! We felt convicted by God and the Holy Spirit to present some lessons specifically about prayer, so that we could grow closer to God and each other through this very great gift God has given us. There are many dimensions to prayer and much information the Bible can reveal to us about prayer. We’re looking at God’s word to learn more about prayer and praying that God will help us better see and understand the value and importance of prayer.
Along with this new Prayer series, as a congregation, we also started our 40 Days of Prayer initiative where we’ve been spending intentional time praying every day. Our hope is that we’d spend time together praying similar prayers, and praying in the same direction, asking for God’s guidance as we seek to move forward in our service to God. We’re excited to see what God says to us as we pour our hearts out to Him. We believe God is going to do great works in our lives, our church family, and our community this year as we commune together with Him.
Won’t you join us as we go through our Prayer series and we spend time praying together? We are very grateful for everyone who studies about prayer with us and who prays along with us. May God richly bless you as we learn more from God’s word about prayer and how to pray more effectively.
