After reviewing Governor Lee and the TN Department of Health’s COVID-19 recommendations for places of worship for the resumptions of in-person assemblies, the elders have decided that Netherland will begin a gradual return to our normally scheduled assemblies. Starting Sunday, May 17, we will have an 11:00 worship assembly in the building. We intend to have a live broadcast of services over Youtube and Facebook available for those who prefer to remain at home or if health concerns prevent them from attending. Please, if you or a family member are not feeling well or running a fever, do not attempt to attend. The auditorium seating has been rearranged to allow for more social distancing and where family units can sit together and others can sit with the recommended distance allowance. If members want to wear masks and/or gloves to the services, they should feel free to do so. During this time, we will discontinue door greeters, meet and greet periods, candy and mint distribution, and we encourage everyone to avoid handshakes and embracing at the assemblies. A table is set up in the foyer for everyone to pick up a bulletin and an offering envelope. Communion will be served by men of the congregation, but trays will not be passed. Servers will present trays with double cups with the bread in the bottom cup and the fruit of the vine in the top cup. A prayer of thanksgiving and blessing will be offered over each element by the brother presiding over the table. We ask that everyone dispose of their own communion cups at the close of the service. Offering baskets will be placed in the foyer and offering envelopes may be placed in the baskets at the close of service. Eventually, we will begin meeting for Bible Study and Sunday evening worship. An announcement will be made at that time. We will have homecoming worship on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at 11:00. As per Governor Lee and the TN Department of Health’s recommendations, we will not have a fellowship meal that day. A-Teams wanting to resume meeting need to make a request to the elders with a plan on how they will maintain the recommended social distancing guidelines. Upon the elder’s approval, the A-Team may resume meetings.
